At my home, a lot of our fruits and vegetables are grown hydroponically outside or in soil, and we selectively grow plants inside where we can control the climate. Here in Arizona, watts are far greener than fossil fuels. We can grow organic fruits and vegetables beneath grow lights using renewable energy. Food we grow is organic, pesticide-free and has no packaging or distribution. We don't need to refrigerate because we can harvest when we eat.
Hydroponics is effort-intensive. Equipment is only as effective as the skill and understanding of the grower. Our guides cover important concepts that growers should be familiar with. Experience with hydroponics is increasingly valuable as agriculture shifts from distant farms to local food production.
